My Dad (Pops) makes awesome chocolate malts. He always says that when he retires he is going to open a store called “Pop’s Chocolate Malts” and sell only chocolate malts in only one size. Do one thing and do it well is his motto. The folks at Five Guys Burgers and Fries must subscribe to my Dad’s theory. They do one thing, burgers and fries, and they do it well!
The menu is pretty straight forward. Order your burger, add your toppings (all are free except cheese and bacon), order your fries (plain or Cajun) and get something to drink. The only other menu item is hot dogs, which in my mind are synonymous with burgers. What a great place to take the kids-not too many choices for them to agonize over!
The night we dined I had the Little Burger. It is the perfect size for a child (younger children could even split it). My husband had the regular burger which is two patties put together. We all sampled both the regular and Cajun fries and all agreed that they were so yummy! We could tell they hadn’t been sitting under a heat lamp and were made fresh for our order. The burgers were delicious, again we could tell they were hot off the grill and made to order for us. The dining area was so spacious and family friendly. A very relaxed, laid back atmosphere to enjoy dinner with your family!
As the mother of a child with a peanut allergy I really appreciated how they informed me both on-line and at the store that they have peanuts in the restaurant (large boxes of roasted peanuts are out for you to enjoy) and that they use peanut oil for their fries. Because of this I knew to leave my three-year-old at home that evening so that I didn’t have to worry about her and her allergy.
When looking for a dinner that is sure to please everyone in your family, look no further that Five Guys. You’ll be full and glad you came!
