Is there anything more fun in the winter than sledding with the children, then returning home to hot cocoa and popcorn? Enjoy winter fun at one of Kansas City’s best sled hills. Our loyal readers shared their favorite KC area sledding locations with us, so bundle up and head out for a winter adventure your family won’t soon forget!
Select a hill that is not too steep and has a long flat area at the bottom for you to glide to a stop. Also, avoid hillsides that end near streets, parking lots, ponds, trees, fences or other hazards. Remember, it’s best to sled when it’s snowy rather than icy for the safest landings, and always wear a helmet for added protection.
