The 33rd Brookside Art Annual will welcome thousands to the Brookside neighborhood May 4-6 with family-friendly activities, local flavor, and 180 juried artists for this annual celebration of art in the city presented by Research Medical Center ER of Brookside.
The Brookside Art Annual is a family-friendly event and a juried art show and is one of the top 20 art shows in the nation. The art annual is a weekend full of award-winning artists, sculptors, fabric artists and more. Local business owners open their doors to welcome people to 63rd Street and Brookside Boulevard to enjoy the community of Brookside.

Events and Activities for All Ages
Savor local cuisine at the north and south end of the art annual from Charlie Hooper’s Bar & Grille, Michael Forbes Bar & Grille, Sweet & Simple, Cosentino’s, Avenues Bistro, and Carmen’s Café.
Chris Cakes will return this year with a pancake breakfast Saturday, May 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a $5 (cash only) per person entrance fee.
Families can explore their own creativity at the kid's tent, sponsored by ER of Brookside and Cosentino’s Brookside Market and Cosentino’s Price Chopper. Saturday, May 5 from 11a.m. to 4p.m. and Sunday, May 6 from 11a.m. - 5p.m., children can decorate a foam pot and plant a flower for Mother’s Day, decorate cookies, and make a Cheerios bird feeder or a mini catapult.
Research Medical Center ER of Brookside staff members will host a Teddy Bear Clinic May 5th and 6th. Parents can bring their child and his or her favorite stuffed animal to the Research Medical Center interactive tent and learn more about the services and community programs sponsored by Research Medical Center.
Explore the Art
Visitors can explore and purchase a variety of art forms and talk to artists under the iconic white tents that line Brookside Boulevard.
Brookside Art Annual visitors will be able to meet featured artist Debo Groover in booth #53 during the show. Groover recently won the Sunshine Artist magazine’s national poster contest and was voted the winner of Overall Best at the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair in Ann Arbor, Michigan this past July. She will be available to sign commemorative 2018 Brookside Art Annual posters and merchandise.
In 2008, Debo created a new technique using polymer clay as a painting and collage material. Debo spent years perfecting this technique and the public response has been so encouraging that she primarily creates in this unique medium. Debo creates her polymer clay paintings at her home-based Debortina Studio in Tallahassee, Florida.
