Great Topeka Duck Race

Lake Shawnee South of 29th & Croco Road, Topeka, Kansas
The 24th Annual SERTOMA Great Topeka Duck Race. No less than 10,000 “adopted” rubber ducks will be dropped into Lake Shawnee in the cove South of the swim beach, for a race to the finish line. Lucky winners will receive great prizes! You need not be present to win the top prizes. Ducks can be adopted for a $5.00 donation. Ducks are numbered corresponding to your adoption certificate. Your Lucky Duck Number is printed on your adoption certificate and is valid for single and/or multiple duck adoptions. Adopt your ducks on-line with a Visa or MasterCard. Join a team, adopt the most ducks and win!
Parking: Tinman Circle, East Edge Road & Croco, south side of East Edge.
- 11:00 to 3:00 pm – Drive up adoptions at entrance to Race site
- 11:00 am – FREE Children’s activities begin.
- 12:00 noon – hourly door prizes begin
- 1:00 pm – 0.1k Waddle for the kiddos – just for fun – about 160 steps
- 2:00 pm – Quacky’s Egg Hunt
- 3:00 pm – Duck drop
- 4:00 pm – Announce winners
- Music and entertainment on the big stage throughout the day.
Event concludes around 3:30 when winners are announced! Come early for hourly door prizes starting at noon, FREE festivities, FREE children’s midway games, FREE family games, petting zoo, animals, music and entertainment on the big stage throughout the day. FREE rides to the event from Tinman Circle parking area, turn off of Croco Road onto East Edge Road - parking on the south side of East Edge Road. Also a great walking path from there takes you directly to the Duck Race event area.
