Harry Truman's Life Story, in Concert
The Inman Middle School Concert Band will be traveling from Tennessee to perform a program of songs arranged chronologically to tell the story of Harry S. Truman’s life. Notable selections include classical music by Chopin and Mozart, “Over There,” “Sousa Spectacular,” and “They Didn’t Believe Me.”
Narration will be provided by Doug Richardson of the National Park Service and will include a reading of letters from President Truman to his wife, one which was written exactly 100 years ago from the day of the performance. After the program concludes, the letters will be available to view in the museum as a special installment of the Library’s “Treasures from the Collection.”
