Mt. Gilead Monday School Program
Mt. Gilead Mondays is a program for homeschool students, and students in school systems that have shortened their week to exclude Mondays. Each Mt. Gilead Monday event has its own history-related theme. The program takes place in a historic one room classroom with a schoolmarm dressed in period costume. Children may also dress in period costume if they choose, but it is not required. Mt. Gilead Monday starts at 10:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. Parents are responsible for transportation. Children will need to bring a sack lunch.
Each Mt. Gilead Monday program includes historic interpretation of the selected theme, craft and games. The cost is $10.00 / participant. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Clay County Historic Sites at 816-736-8500.
