Norwegian Women's Choir to Perform in Olathe

The Women’s Choral Society of the University of Oslo (Kvindelige Studenters Sangforening, KSS) will perform Monday, March 26, 7:30 p.m., at the Bell Cultural Events Center, 2030 E. College Way, Olathe, KS 66062, on the campus of the MidAmerica Nazarene University. Since 2015 Interkultur, the world's leading organizer of international choir competitions and festivals, has ranked KSS as the world’s top women’s choir. The 35-member troupe, founded in 1895, is the oldest women’s academic choir in the world. Dressed in traditional Norwegian garb, the group sings everything from Norwegian folk music to contemporary works. KSS last toured the U.S. in 1948, and will retrace some of the stops on that tour. Stops currently include Chicago, Des Moines, Minneapolis, New York and Olathe, KS. Admission is free, but free will donations are accepted. This event is sponsored in part by the Olathe Public Library.
