Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch is located at 17607 N.E. 52nd Street in Liberty, Missouri, making it an easy fall outing for Kansas City families.
This was our first time visiting Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch, and after spending the day there, I’m already wondering how we had never made it out before! We were keeping a close eye on the weather, so when the rain held off, we were thrilled—and it turned into such a fun fall day for our little family.
Our Experience at Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch in Liberty, MO
The first thing that struck me was just the scope of the farm. I knew there would be plenty to do, but I was honestly blown away by how many activities and attractions there were and how spread out everything was. This is definitely not a “stop by for an hour” kind of pumpkin patch. You could very easily spend an entire day here.
One of my favorite things was that there really was something for everyone. Our little guy loved the goats and other animals in the Petting Barn, and Little Bud’s Railroad was a HUGE hit. Honestly, he may have enjoyed watching the train go by just as much as he enjoyed riding it!
Meanwhile, my husband and I discovered Carolyn’s Country Cornhole and naturally had to turn it into a competition. Sadly, neither of us is particularly good at cornhole, but that did absolutely nothing to stop the smack talk. We also had fun with some of the other sports-style games around the farm, including skee-ball and basketball shooting.
My husband also took one for the team and went down the Mega Slide—and let me tell you, he got moving! It was one of those moments where I was laughing before he even made it to the bottom.
One attraction all three of us could agree on was the Corney Corral. Talk about fall sensory play! Our little guy had a blast digging and playing in all those corn kernels, and we were perfectly happy joining in.
The pig races were another highlight. Those pigs can seriously move when they want to—and let’s just say they appear to be VERY food motivated. The whole thing was a hoot and such a fun break in the day.
I also really enjoyed the retail space. I’m a sucker for fall décor, and I came home with a massive mum for only $15 plus a few cute pumpkins for our front porch. Of course, we couldn’t leave without grabbing a couple of sweet treats for the drive home either.
All in all, Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch was absolutely worth the trip. Between the animals, train rides, games, slides, corn bed, pig races, shopping and everything else we didn’t even manage to squeeze in, there is so much to experience.
For our first visit, Carolyn’s definitely impressed us. We’ll be back!

Mom Tips for Visiting Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch
- Give yourself plenty of time. Carolyn’s is much bigger than I expected, and there is enough to do that I wouldn’t try to squeeze it into a quick visit.
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty, especially if your kids plan to dive into the corn bed.
- And definitely buy your tickets online before you go—you’ll save $3 per ticket.
- If your little one loves trains, build in some extra time just to watch Little Bud’s Railroad make its rounds. For ours, that was entertainment all by itself.
- And don’t skip the retail area before heading home. The mums, pumpkins and sweet treats made it very easy to bring a little bit of fall home with us.
