Shop a variety of shops and enjoy many great restaurants at Crown Center. Ice Skating at the Ice Terrace, crafts at Kaleidoscope, live shows, and a visit with Santa at his gingerbread village are all musts when visiting this local holiday landmark. The Mayor's Christmas tree, a 100-foot tree will illuminate the city throughout the holidays and acts as a symbol for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, which benefits the Kansas City’s less fortunate residents. After the holidays, the wood from the tree is repurposed to be commemorative ornaments, which are sold the following year to benefit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund.
Oct. 24 from 6:30-8:30pm at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO. Get your holiday shopping done early while supporting our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. Vendors will be selling jewelry, clothing, food, children’s gifts, personal care, and much more.
Oct. 26 & 27, St. Thomas More School, 11800 Holmes, Kansas City, MO. Shop over 40 vendors with lots of gift worthy items on your list and some pampering for you too! Friday, 10/26 will be the VIP social from 6-9:00 pm. A $20 entry fee will get you a door prize ticket, a raffle ticket and food and drinks. Holiday Season Opener: Brookside
Nov. 8-11, Brookside Shopping District, 63rd and Brookside Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Kansas City’s favorite neighborhood and the historic Brookside shops are celebrating the start of the 2018 holiday season November 8th through 11th with the annual Brookside Holiday Season Opener—a free, family-friendly event with holiday sales, pop-up events, food and drink specials, music and giveaways.
- Holiday Season Opener: Thursday Night: The festivities kick-off Thursday at 5 p.m. with specials at participating stores and restaurants, followed by the Season Opener celebration in Brookside Court Park at the southeast corner of Brookside Boulevard and 63rd Street from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Visitors can pick up refreshments provided by Michael Forbes Bar and Grille, The Roasterie Café and Cosentino’s Price Chopper. Families and shoppers can enjoy festivities in the park from carols and holiday music, to photo spots and great giveaways, all emceed by Teresa from the Mix 93.3 Rocket & Teresa Show. Live music will be provided by The Holiday Trombones, Providence School of the Arts, University Academy, Border Star Elementary School Choir, St. Elizabeth’s Choir and the St Peter’s School Choir. Thursday’s celebration kicks off a weekend of holiday sales in Brookside. Black Friday at Legends Outlets

The Waldo Neighborhood is home to some of the best restaurants, shops, and bars in the Kansas City area. Visitors can expect a great day of shopping and dining local this holiday season. C.W. Parker Carousel Museum's Annual Children's Small Mall

Dec. 8, Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park, KS. The Holiday Marketplace is open to shoppers of all ages. Children will enjoy a visit from Santa, holiday crafts, and a special shopping experience to find the perfect gift for any member of their family. Volunteers will be on hand to help kids purchase presents for family and friends and assist in the wrapping to keep the gifts a surprise. All gifts available for purchase will be $15 or less and there will be a free gift wrap station. Gingerbread house making and lunch available for purchase. Gifts are wrapped and labeled compliments of the Elves. While the children are shopping, adults can browse in our gift shop, relax in the exhibit area, and snack on holiday treats.
