Editor's Letter

I have a confession. I have been a diehard fan of my hometown my whole life. Everyone who knows me knows that I love Kansas City…. with a passion! I love living here. I love raising my kids here. I love the museums, the history, the galleries, the parks, the theater, the Plaza… Sometimes I even think I have barbecue sauce coursing through my veins. Okay, that may be a stretch, but you get the idea. Yet, while I love my city, I’ve long believed that Kansas City was in need of something; as great as it is, it can be better. This is the year Kansas City dares to be better. We are excited to be welcoming two attractions that have the whole town talking: the Sea Life Aquarium (my dreams are coming true) and LEGOLand Discovery Center (my husband’s dreams are coming true!). Our landlocked Midwestern town may never have ocean views, but we are now home to ocean life! These two new attractions are just the beginning. As you read the pages of KC Going Places, you’ll discover many new parks, pools, events and attractions and many of our Kansas City originals welcoming new improvements making them better and better. It’s a great time to live in Kansas City.
