    The kids are back in school (or almost there) and that means all kinds of new fall & winter clothing has arrived in stores. But you won’t find me filling my cart with sweaters and jackets…look for me in the back of the store weeding through swimsuits, tank tops, and shorts! No, we’re not moving to Florida. Now is the PERFECT time to shop for summer clothing if you are hunting for bargains. Stores need to clear their sales floors in order to make room for the fall and winter items that are coming in every day, so the summer items are shoved to the back of the store and marked with clearance prices. That much you probably already know. But some of you may avoid buying things from those clearance racks because you may wonder what you would do with a new sundress in September. Here is what you do…buy one in a size larger and save it for next summer! If there is one thing you can count on, it’s that your kids will grow and need new clothes next year. By stocking up NOW, you won’t have to pay full price next March when the weather starts warming up and it’s time to bust out the short sleeves. 

    Another great reason to stock up now is that many stores have discounts and coupons available to entice you into the store to buy some of that great back-to-school merchandise. Use those coupons to shop in the clearance section and you will amp up your savings even more! Here are a few current or upcoming sales/coupons that you may want to use to score some deals!

    You may be wondering where you are going to store all of these clothes for next year and thinking it’s not worth the hassle. But it’s so easy to make room…clear out the bottom drawer of your kid’s dresser and designate it for clothing for next year. Or buy a plastic tub and label it with the season/size and store it in your basement. It will feel like Christmas in 6 months when you open up that box to find all of the great deals you scored and a brand new wardrobe for your kids at a fraction of the price!
