Missouri Sales Tax Holiday!

Happy Holidays!  This coming weekend (August 5-7) is Missouri's Back to School Sales Tax Holiday! During this weekend you won't have to pay state/local sales tax on clothing, school supplies, computers, and a variety of other items.  This means you'll save around 4-7% (depending on your location) on everything you buy without using a single coupon or shopping the sales!  Woo! 

For information on what is/is not included in sales tax holiday shopping, go HERE.  There are some price limits and exclusions so you will want to check it out before you shop so there are no surprises.  There also are a few cities not participating, though most areas near Kansas City are. 

Besides the obvious bonus of getting to save on back-to-school supplies and clothes, there are other ways to make the most of this sale.  Have you been thinking of buying a new computer?  With such a big ticket item you may want to buy it this weekend...7% of a $500+ purchase is quite a bit! 

Also look for sales or deals that you can stack with your sales tax savings.  For example, starting today you will earn a $10 "Super Cash" certificate for every $20 you spend at Old Navy.  So, if you spend $100 on clothing you will not only save about $7 in sales tax, you will get $50 worth of Super Cash vouchers that you can redeem during the weekend of August 25-29!  What a deal! 

This week is Friends and Family week at Ann Taylor LOFT...you will get 30% off your purchase with this printable coupon.  (Mommies need back-to-school clothes, too!)

Those are just a couple of the deals that I know about already...more are sure to pop up before the weekend! 

Also...this may be a great weekend to use any Groupons (or similar daily deal vouchers)!!

As for school supplies, there are sure to be plenty of deals across the board, so be sure to check your ads for Office Max, Staples, Target, and even your Grocery Stores to see what is on sale.  If you don't need school supplies yet (or have already purchased yours), you may want to pick up arts and crafts supplies for your own stash, Christmas gifts, or for charitable donations.
