Questions about American Girl Dolls

I'm curious...Have you visited the new American Girl store? 

I'll admit, I was rather excited when I learned that an American Girl store was to open this fall.  It's been open for nearly a month and I've yet to make a visit.

My oldest daughter is nearly six and while she would love an American Girl doll, I'm not quite sure she is old enough for one yet.  They are more expensive than any other toy she owns!

So, I'm asking you readers what you think of the American Girl products and store.  Everything I've seen or heard sounds wonderful, but for now my daughter is content with a different, and much less expensive, 18-inch doll she received on her last birthday.

A fun visit to americangirl.com revealed that some of the dolls are intended for children eight years and older.  I know of many younger girls who are enjoying these dolls, so again, I ask you to share your experience!
