What's For Dinner?

I’ve got organization on my brain.  Fueled by my friend’s help to organize my basement, I’ve continued to scrutinize everything in my house.  I’d be a bit embarrassed to tell you how many trips I’ve made to the thrift store to donate our unused items, and I still have another load to go!

In the midst of all of this decluttering and organizing, I’ve also been looking at what else I could do simplify my life.  The first things that came to mind were, of course, laundry and cooking.  I’ve learned that laundry goes smoothly if I do a load on most days.  Meal planning goes well if I, uh, well, I haven’t exactly figured that one out yet.  That brings me to this post.

It dawned on me that if a friend was able to help me start to get organized, maybe a friend could also help me become more efficient at meal planning.  I knew just who to ask.  Lucky for me, she and her youngest daughter are coming to my house later this week.  Our girls will play while she tells me what she does to make meal planning easy for her.  If I’m lucky, she’ll even share a few recipes.

I realize that it isn’t difficult, but I sure do have a hard time sitting down to do it.  I figure if cleaning out my basement is almost fun with a friend, then surely meal planning will be a good time with a friend!

In the meantime, I’d love to know what you do to make meal planning easier for you!  Until my kitchen becomes self-sufficient (it could happen, right?), I’ll need to know what is for dinner, preferably before five o’clock each night!
