Why Aren't Minivans Cool?

     That’s right, I used to be cool, but now I drive a minivan and for some reason that automatically kicks me out of the club, right?

      Okay, let’s be honest.  I’ve never been that cool and that’s just fine with me.  However, I truly don’t understand why minivans have gotten such a bad rap.  I’ve driven a minivan for five years.  We recently got a newer model and I truly can’t imagine why a mom wouldn’t want to drive one.

     I’ll be honest and let you know that my husband and I briefly considered a SUV, but then we decided that sliding doors are so much easier in our garage.  Not to mention the fact that I would be terribly nervous that my kids would carelessly open the back doors and scratch a car parked next to us.

     Even if I thought they were old enough to be careful about this, I truly don’t think I could have been swayed to get a SUV.  The inside of a minivan is so easy with three kids. 

     So tell me.  Why would someone choose a SUV over a minivan?  I know it’s not the price or gas mileage!
