Kansas City's Farmers Markets
Kansas City is home to more than 30 farmers' markets. They range from small markets selling exclusively organic produce to the City Market with more than 140 local vendors. You can purchase fruits, vegetables, plants, herbs, homemade soaps, baked goods, and even live animals. If you are new to the world of the farmers market, this simple guide will get you started!
In addition to markets, another great source is the Missouri Food Finder. Farmers, growers, and local suppliers can enter basic information about the food they sell, location, and contact information so customers can find local food sources at MoFoodFinder.org.

What to Bring to the Farmers Market:
- Comfortable shoes and bottled water
- Shopping bags (Some vendors provide them, but it’s always good to reuse.)
- Cash in small bills (Many vendors do accept credit cards or checks; however, many do not.)
- Wheels! If you plan to purchase large quantities of produce, a wagon or cart will come in handy.
- Coolers with ice if you’re concerned about berries, cheeses, and other new purchases arriving home fresh after a day in the summer sun.
Farmers Market Shopping Tips:
- Know what is in season. Read farmers market sites and Facebook pages before you head out for "in season tips."
- Shop early in the day for the freshest produce OR shop late in the day for the best bargains.
- Let the kids choose something new. Encourage your children to choose a new fruit or vegetable to try. It helps broaden the horizons of young taste buds and teaches kids to explore. They’ll enjoy eating food from a farmer they personally meet!
- Get to know vendors. “Take time to walk the entire market before making your purchases. Observe and talk to the other customers to see which vendors are the most popular and reliable. Most importantly, ask questions. Who grew the product and where did it come from? How was it grown?” says Tim Sullivan of Sullivan’s Greenhouse. “Many vendors supplement their offerings with products purchased from who-knows-where. Some vendors don't produce anything they sell. It takes time to get to know your vendors. If you aren't satisfied with something you bought, let the vendor know about it the next week. His response will tell you a lot about him.”

107th Street Farmers Market / Grand Court Farmers Market*

- Where: HJ’s Community Center | 6425 Wornall Road, KC, MO.
- Features: organic, local, vendor-only market where you will find just-picked, farm-fresh vegetables and herbs, bright flowers, delicious meats, eggs from free-range chickens, freshly prepared breads and baked goods including many vegan and gluten-free items, fresh juices, and a place to sit and take in the scene.
- When: May-October: Wednesday, 3:00-7:00 and Saturday, 7:30-Noon
- Where: Family Center's Parking lot in front of the Movie Theater close to I-49 (old US HWY 71) and M-291., Harrisonville, MO.
- Features: Traditional farmers market.
City Market ***
- When: Year-round: April-October Saturdays 8 am-3 pm. Sundays 9 am-3 pm. June-August Wednesday Mini Market 10 am-2 pm. November-March Saturdays & Sundays 9 am-3 pm. Beginning the first weekend of April, the Farmers Market is open Saturdays, 7 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sundays, 9 a.m.– 3 p.m.*
- Where: 20 E. 5th Street, KC, MO.
- Features: With more than 140 vendor stalls, this is the largest farmers market in the KC area. Bedding plants, fruits, vegetables, herbs, fresh baked goods, pastries, honey, flowers, and crafts made by local artisans are for sale. The market also hosts festivals and special events year-round.
Downtown Lee's Summit Farmers Market **
- When & Where: The Wednesday Market will open on in April at Second Street and Douglas Street in Downtown Lee’s Summit. The Wednesday Market will be open every Wednesday from 8 am until 12 pm until mid-November. The Saturday Market will operate at Abundant Life Church again. The market will open on Saturdays from 8 am – 12 pm. The Saturday Market will be open every Saturday until mid-November.
- Features: 50 vendors featuring a variety of fresh produce, plants, meat, baked goods, handmade goods, and much more.
- When: Open Saturdays (May to October) from 8am to 1pm
- Where: Drumm Farm 3210 S Lee's Summit Road, Independence, MO.
- Features: Drumm staff and children plant a 4-acre garden and care for livestock. Children on campus participate in farm operations, giving them an opportunity to learn valuable life skills. The public is invited to shop at Drumm Market to help teach these skills to the children.
- When: Saturdays 8am-1pm
- Where: Atkins-Johnson Farm (4109 Pleasant Valley Road, Gladstone, MO 64119)
- Features: Purchase all your favorite farmers market goods including produce, farm-raised beef of all varieties, fresh eggs, jams & jellies, and baked goods. Cool-weather produce includes spinach, radish, lettuce, kale, greens, beets, and much more.
- When: Grandview's Farmers Market every Saturday, 8am-12 pm. It begins in June and runs until the last weekend in September.
- Where: The Grandview Amphitheater (13501 Byars Rd, Grandview, MO 64030)
- Features: With a variety of local vendors, The Grandview Farmers Market has everything from fresh produce, homemade goodies, and hand-made items! Follow them on Facebook at Grandview Farmers Market to stay up to date on what will be at market each week.
Independence Farmers Market at the Uptown Market **
- When: May-Oct Saturdays 6 AM- 1 PM and June - Oct Wednesdays 6 AM-1 PM. In addition to the Farmers Market, held seasonally May - October each Saturday; and the Winter Market, held seasonally December - April the first Saturday of each month, the facility is designed as a mixed-use space.
- Where: 211 Truman Rd., Independence, MO
- Features: Along with the produce, plants, jams, jellies, and baked goods, salsa, BBQ sauces, peppered jams, pickles, pasteurized cheeses, and meats are now available at the market.
Kansas City Kansas Farmers Market ***
- When: The KCK Farmers' Market operates THREE locations in Wyandotte County. June-October 7:30am- 1pm

Kansas City Organics Farmers Market *
- When: May-October: Saturday, 8:00am-12:30pm
- Where: Minor Park, just east of Holmes on Red Bridge Road (111th Street), Kansas City, MO.
- Features: Organic family farmers offer fresh-picked, locally grown produce, natural specialty meats, honey, edible flowers, herbs, grains, artisan breads and pies, eggs, fresh-brewed "fair trade" coffee and more.
- When: Saturdays, 07:00 AM. until 12:00 Noon.
- Where: Haymarket Square corner of 7th & Cherokee, Leavenworth, KS.
- Features: All produce and products are grown or made by the vendors. All vendors are within 50 miles of the market.

- Where: Lenexa Farmers Market is located on the bottom floor of the parking garage at the Lenexa civic campus. If you are using GPS to get here, use 17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219 as the address. Free parking is available on the upper floors of the parking garage. Due to construction happening around the area, use the map below to find the best way to get to the parking garage.

Each Saturday and Tuesday during the Market season, you can expect a great selection of products from vendors who care about their products. - When: June - August: Thursdays 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. No market on July 4.
- Where: 5635 Johnson Drive, Mission, KS.
- Features: Traditional farmers market with special events, crafters, vendors, and food trucks throughout the season.
- When: Saturdays from Apr. 24 - Oct.: Operating from 7:30 a.m. until items are sold. and Wednesdays from May 12 to Aug. : Operating from 7:30 a.m. until items are sold.
- Where: Stagecoach Park, 1205 E. Kansas City Rd. and Black Bob Park, 14500 W 151st St., Field One
- Features: Locally grown fresh produce and/or plants and fresh flowers. The intent of the market is to offer primarily for retail sale only products that can be grown in this geographic area and is not refined and/or made into another product. Overland Park Farmers Market **
- When: Saturday Markets run from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. April 28-September 22, and 8 a.m.-Noon, September 28-November 16. Wednesday Markets run from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m., May 22-September 25.
- Where: Marty between 79th and 80th, Overland Park, KS.
- Features: Vendors offer customers a wide variety of products including fresh produce, local foods, and unique specialty items. Many special events offered throughout the season.
- When: May- Aug : Saturday, 7:30-11:00am
- Where: Park Square, Downtown Paola, KS.
- Features: Traditional farmers market with dozens of local vendors of produce, meat, and homemade items.
- When: mid-April-last weekend of October: Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m and 2nd Wednesday in June to 2nd Wednesday in September: Wednesday from noon - 4 pm
- Where: English Landing Park, Parkville, MO.

Raymore Original Town Farmers Market *
