The store was founded in 1955 by André and Ellsbeth Bollier, who immigrated here from Switzerland to mix up chocolate treats with pure butter, whipped cream and the highest quality chocolate. Over 50 years later, the Bollier family still runs the business and have added a second store as well as a tea room, serving gourmet lunches, pastries and of course … chocolate. Chip’s Chocolate Factory
This sweet stop is a candy store and a show all in one. Opened in 1983, Chip’s still uses the same marble tables and copper kettles as it did when it opened in 1983. Schedule a tour and you can watch the house confectioner make fudge from the cocoa bean to the finished project, or simply catch a glimpse of the action while you shop.
Chip’s has patented Kansas City Fudge. Flavors spanning from cookies and cream to amaretto to the Kansas City Special (vanilla fudge, swirled with chocolate fudge and fresh pecans) will make your mouth water if the sweet smell doesn’t get to you first.

Christopher Elbow is a gallery of chocolate. The namesake chocolate maker focuses not just on taste in his confections, but appearance – each candy is a tiny work of art. Laura Little’s is a real neighborhood candy store and a landmark in the area since 1970. Satisfy your candy cravings with fresh, house made fudge, toffee and assorted chocolate. With over 85 years of experience in making chocolate, Russell Stover is not only the biggest, but one of the best candy stores in Kansas City. Russell and Clara Stover began their business in Denver, Colorado in 1923. When the business went national, Kansas City was one of the first locations to be graced with a store. Now, there are seven alone in the nearby Kansas City area and thousands worldwide.
