I sometimes feel like we are in a dining rut. I feel like I make the same meals over and over and when we do go out, we tend to always eat at the same places. On the advice of a friend, we decided to try Noodles and Co. We found great, family-friendly food with the variety I was looking for. Their menu includes something for just about everyone. On our recent visit with our daughters we were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and the value of the food. Their menu offers prepared-to-order noodle-based Asian, Italian, and good ol’ American dishes—from spicy, to classic comfort food including noodles with butter (a personal favorite of mine) and Wisconsin macaroni and cheese. The dishes are served without meat, but a protein can be added to any dish for a reasonable cost.

After placing our order at the counter we found we had a very short wait for our meal to arrive. A nice touch when dining with children! My husband enjoys spicy foods and went for the Bangkok Curry while I tried the Pasta Fresca with chicken added. The girls couldn’t decide between macaroni and cheese or house marinara so we ordered one of each and let them share. I really liked the fact that you could order your meal in a small or medium size. The medium-sized portions are a good amount for sharing among the kids. All of the meals were really good…we sure didn’t have much left over! I can’t eat pasta without bread and the ciabatta roll I ordered hit the spot. My husband ordered the side salad and gave it two thumbs up. The cucumber tomato salad looked good and I’ll have to order it on our next visit.

Be sure you save some room for dessert. Not a lot of variety but a couple of yummy favorites that really satisfy that sweet tooth. Unable to choose, we got one of each: a Rice Krispie treat, a chocolate chunk cookie and a snickerdoodle cookie. The large Rice Krispie treat was quickly devoured. If you are lucky, you may get a cookie still a little bit warm from the oven, and as far as I’m concerned, nothing beats a warm cookie!

If you are tired of the same old thing and feel like you could use some variety, break out of your routine and visit Noodles and Co. Not only will you enjoy some really good food but you’ll also be able to dine in a relaxed atmosphere where kids getting up to refill their drinks and visit with each other don’t bother other diners. We had a great time and are happy to have another restaurant to add to our family’s rotation.
