CITY HALL OBSERVATION DECK (414 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO). Open Mon-.Fri. from 9:00 to 3:30. Visitors take an elevator to the 28th floor and then climb 60 stairs (up and back down for the return) to the deck for amazing 360-degree views of the city.

CENTRAL LIBRARY (14 W. 10th St., Kansas City, MO). This library offers rooftop access to a patio where guests may visit, read or challenge one another to a game of chess with life-size pieces.

Kill Creek Park
Take a walk at KILL CREEK PARK (11670 Homestead Ln., Olathe), one of Johnson County’s newest parks, where you can enjoy sunset at the lake. One of the most spectacular sites at the park is the 58-foot-tall Russell and Helen Means Observation Tower. An elevator carries visitors to the top for great views of the Kansas landscape.

National WWI Museum and Memorial
The Liberty Memorial Tower at the NATIONAL WWI MUSEUM AND MEMORIAL rises 217 feet above the main courtyard and 268 feet above the north lawn. Admission to the top is included with museum tickets. Visitors ride an elevator and then ascend 45 stairs to the open-air observation deck. The tower is crowned by the Flame of Inspiration, a steam and lighting effect, that can be viewed from miles away.

Town of Kansas Observation Deck
TOWN OF KANSAS OBSERVATION DECK (In the River Market at the east end of Main Street, Kansas City, MO). Walk the Riverfront Heritage Trail to the 650-foot-long bridge with an outlook over the Missouri River. The site is important to the history of our city as it spans the Town of Kansas archaeological site, two railroads and the Missouri River floodwall.
