Veterans Day Ceremonies in Kansas City:

Veterans Day Ceremony at National WWI Museum at Liberty Memorial 10:00 AM, National WWI Museum at Liberty Memorial. Veterans Day will be commemorated at this special ceremony. The event includes performances by the American Legion Band and speeches to honor the significance of this important day. The ceremony concludes at 11 a.m. – a symbolic time on this special day – with the laying of a wreath. This free event takes place indoors in the J.C. Nichols Auditorium. FREE Admission: Truman Home 8:30 AM, Harry S. Truman National Historic Site. You can visit Harry Truman's home for free on Thursday, November 11? In honor of Veterans, it's free for everyone! Get free tickets at 223 N. Main on Independence Square, then tour the home at 219 N. Delaware. Cabela’s: Will offer their employee discount to all veterans, active-duty military and reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel Nov. 11-12. Discounts vary from 5% to 50%, depending on the item.
Build-a-Bear Workshop: Members of the armed services including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserve Officer Training Corps, will receive a 20% discount Nov. 11-15 on any one transaction at Build-A-Bear Workshop.
Dollar General: 10% discount for all veterans, active-duty military, National Guard and reserve and their immediate families.
Fashion Bug: 20% off all plus-size and misses clothing purchases with a copy of military ID or spouse’s military ID.
Discounted Fuel for Veterans This Thursday, November 11th, Price Chopper is honoring Veteran’s by offering discounts on fuel. Just stop by any of the Kansas City area Price Choppers and show them your PC card + your VA Card, VFW Card, DD214 or any other Veterans ID and the cashier will load a savings of $0.25 per gallon discount on your next fill up (up to 20 gallons) directly onto your card. The good thing is that you will have until the end of 2010 to redeem your discount – so no need to rush and fill up on the 11th.
