Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium – Camps








Spend your summer at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium for animal antics, fun games, crafts, experiments, and animal encounters! Four-day camps (Monday – Thursday) are available all summer long. Single-day camps are also available on select Fridays throughout the summer. We’re excited to offer Friday Half Day camps for Pre-K students age 4-5 years.

Animal Champions
Cheetahs may be fastest on land, but who’s fastest in the water? How do we compare to the animal world’s greatest? Can we move as fast as a hummingbird or leap as far as a kangaroo? Put your skills to the test!

Animal Magicians
How do lightning bugs light up? Why do skunks make such a stink? How does an octopus change color? Through experiments, we’ll test the science behind some of nature’s most magical chemistry.

Animal Artistry
Art can be found everywhere in nature. From the musical calls of whales, the intricacies of a bird’s nest and the colors and patterns of a butterfly. We’ll explore nature’s art and make some of our own.

Amazing Zoo Race: Africa Edition
It’s time for an African safari! Explorers will encounter animals from around the world, learn about their adaptations, and complete team challenges using problem-solving skills as they race to the finish line.

Pathway to Zoo Careers
What jobs keep the Zoo running? Campers will explore careers from marketing and horticulture to customer service and animal care. Each day highlights a different department through hands-on learning opportunities.

Single Day Zoo Careers Camps: Grades K–5
$65 per day ($58.50 FOTZ)
Our Friday camps will explore the important jobs here at the zoo that are necessary for providing the best care for our animals.
Junior Veterinarian From gorillas to frogs, macaws to elephants, zoo veterinarians must be able to understand a wide variety of animals to treat them all with the same quality of care. Campers will study radiographs, examine bones and explore what our vet team does each day.

Junior Animal Care Specialist Have you ever thought working with animals sounds like a fun job? This camp session offers you an inside look to the daily tasks that Animal Care Specialists do to help take care of our animals at the Zoo. While we won ‘t be working directly with animals, you get to learn about how our Animal Care teams clean, prep diets, create enrichment, train animals, and provide the best care.

Junior Aquarist Dive into the amazing underwater world! Campers will learn about ocean habitats and how aquarists care for animals that live in water. From the Aquarium to polar bears and penguins, join us in making a splash this summer.
