Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch 2024
The sound of live music greeted our family as we walked toward the entrance of Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch on opening weekend. The warm welcome by the staff and the smell of the famous pumpkin donuts informed us that we were about to have a great day. My four-year-old skipped quickly ahead, immediately drawn in by the activities, and my two-year-old ran to keep up.
What first caught our kids’ eye was the petting zoo. They loved feeding so many interesting animals such as the highland cow, donkey, sheep, goats, and pigs. We then made our way to the old-fashioned carousel, visited Zack the Singing Tractor, and jumped on the inflatables. My oldest was brave enough to try the Mega Slide on a snow tube and loved the high-speed adventure. My youngest was so interested in the Corney Corral, a huge corn kernel pit, and could have stayed there for hours scooping and filling buckets. The layout of Carolyn’s is very inviting as each attraction is only a short walking distance away from the next.
Opening in 1991, Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch is one of Kansas City’s most beloved pumpkin patch experiences for more than three decades. They have dedicated nearly 20 acres of land to family farm fun with attractions such as a hayride into the fields to pick the perfect pumpkin, delicious concessions like their homemade kettle corn and apple slushes, a railroad train, gigantic slides, jumping pillows, carnival games, and pumpkin photo opportunities galore.
Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch (formerly known as Carolyn’s Country Cousins) is located in Liberty, MO and open five days a week until Halloween. It is closed on Tuesdays, and only open for field trips on Wednesdays. The patch is most festive on the weekends with full concessions available, live entertainment, Uncle Lester’s Pig Races, and pumpkin cannon shows. However, going on the weekdays offers a relaxing visit without the crowds. You will not be disappointed whenever you choose to go! This outing is a fantastic option for the whole family as there truly is something for every age.
As we were exiting the patch, my oldest said, “We got to do one hundred fun things at this place!” Our visit to the patch was thoroughly enjoyed and many family memories were made. This will be a fall tradition for our family for years to come!
