With the Thanksgiving holiday just past and the Christmas season upon us, this is a great time to take a few moments to reflect on the past year and offer thanks to all of the blessings we have experienced over the past year. This is a time to be thankful and to offer gratitude to the many people who touch our lives each and every day. With this in mind, I would like to take a few moments to thank some of the special people in many life (of course this will not be a comprehensive list because there is simply no way I can thank every person who has helped me in my life).
First and foremost, I am thankful for my wife. Without her, I would be lost in this world. She gives me unconditional love, even when I am not sure I deserve it. She is truly the kindest, most caring person I have ever met (and the craziest because she puts up with me) and she is the light of my life,
I am thankful for my children. All three of them bring so much laughter and joy into my home, I simply can’t remember what life was like without them. Although they aren’t perfect and drive me crazy at times, the love we share more than makes up for the stress they can cause.
I am also thankful for the rest of my family: my parents, brothers and sisters, my in-laws, and all my nieces and nephews. You are all special to me, are there when I need you, and are generous with your time and your love. The holidays are special because of all of you.
I am thankful for all my friends for caring about me and my family and for sharing your time with us.
I am thankful for my co-workers, who make each day enjoyable.
I am thankful for everyone in my life, and although I can’t take the time to list everyone by name, I want to offer a special thank you to all my readers. Sometimes, I wonder if anyone ever reads my KC Parent Dad’s blog but then someone posts a comment or mentions that they like my blog and I know people are reading what I have to say. Thank you for reading and commenting. I am grateful that you take a few minutes out of your week to read what I have to share.
I also want to thank those of you who have read my novels Sex, Lies, and the Classroom, The M-16 Agenda, and my newest release Musings of a Particular Bear: A Poetry Collection. Writing is an inherently lonely occupation, but you the readers make it all worthwhile.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hopefully you will take the time to say thank you to the ones you love.
