Today we celebrate the one week birthday of our newest family member! Brielle Lyn Light (Brielle means "God is my strength" and we are thankful to say He truly is) was born on December 14 at a healthy 7lb 4oz. Before she came, as I was experiencing contractions and anticipating her birth, I kept remembering her sisters and all the joy they bring to our family... from our two-year-old's unique renditions of "Frosty the Snowman," "Away in a Manger," and "Oh Christmas Tree!" to our four-year-old's imaginative storytelling and both girls' adoration for each other. I was excited to welcome a third little girl into our family.
The big sisters visited us in the hospital just a few hours after baby's birth and it was love at first sight. They both love to kiss, hold (with help), and hug their baby sister. From the very start, Brielle belonged in our family... and today, we celebrate one full week as a family of five.
This week, we celebrate the birth of another baby, the One who came to save the world. When we decorate for Christmas, we like to read these verses to remind us of the meaning of Christmas. And so, as we wish you a Merry Christmas, let these verses share the story of Jesus and our reason for celebrating.
