The gifts have been given, songs have been sung, family time has been enjoyed and now it's time for shoppers to rejoice! I love the post-holiday shopping fun that happens this time of the year! It is a great time to not only get Christmas/Holiday supplies for next year at a deep discount, but also things that can be useful to your family year 'round.
Target, and many other stores, marked down their Christmas section to 50% off right after Christmas. Then in the last couple of days everything got marked down to 70% off. And in the next few days it will be 90% off. THAT is when I pick up Christmas decorations. :) I never buy at 50% off...because I know how much will still be in the store a few days later for even cheaper!
But now is a good time to look for all sorts of items on clearance. Target has markdowns happening in all areas of the store. Use that Christmas money from grandma to pick up kitchen items, clothing, decor, and more for cheap! Look for things that are packaged as gifts that you could use...for example, I found a car charger for an iPod 70% off because it was packaged as a Christmas gift. Also look for paper products (napkins, paper plates) that have a Christmas motif...those will be marked down, too, and who cares if your family uses napkins with Christmas trees on them in July?
And then of course there is the big TARGET TOY CLEARANCE coming soon! Usually it's the 2nd or 3rd week of January that the toys get marked down to 70-75% off. This is a GREAT sale to pick up toys for the whole year...get things to give to friends and family for birthdays, plus your own kids birthdays and Christmas at a fraction of the cost! It is also a good time to get things to donate. Just keep checking the Target toy section around the second or third week of January to see if you can snag some toys for cheap!
What about everyone else? What do you shop for after the holidays?
