Heart of America Christmas Pageant

Children's Christmas Opera: Amahl and the Night Visitors

Three Wise Cat, A Christmas Musical

This holiday musical takes place in winter in the alley beside the St. Francis Residential Hotel in New York City. Max, a street musician, Emily, a young mother, and Maureen, a homeless lady, share the alley with three cats. The plan to convert the hotel into a condominium threatens to disrupt everybody's lives, including the three cats. So these three wise cats costume themselves as the Three Wise Men and rearrange the alley trash into a giant holiday display and they launch the first annual Christmas Cat Carnival right there in the alley.

This must-see musical presentation features more than 300 actors, singers, dancers and instrumentalists in a celebration of Christmas and the depiction of the traditional Christmas story. Come celebrate the season with us as you join Mary and Joseph on each step of their journey to Bethlehem - all from the comfort of your own vehicle! Walk to the Manger
Dec 11 at Colonial Presbyterian (Overland Park, KS, and KCMO locations). On Sunday, December 11 we will tell the Christmas story through powerful music and drama on what we call “Walk to the Manger Sunday.” We’ll have two different story lines this year—one at each campus. Childcare will be available at all services for infants and toddlers. Quivira Campus Service Times: 8:00, 9:30, 11:00 AM, and 6:00 PM This year our opening story takes place on a military base, two weeks before Christmas. Soldiers are being deployed the next day, so the Base Church has planned a ‘show’ for the soldiers and their families since they will miss being with their families on December 25. That’s the basic theme which will lead into the Bethlehem scene, the ‘real story’. Wornall Campus Service Times: 9:00 and 11:00 AM. This musical reminds us Mary and Joseph were two very human, very faithful people who believed in miracles against all earthly odds in order to bring a Savior to this world, and reunite God’s people with the Father. The birth of Jesus reminds us of an incredible promise: Nothing is impossible with God.“Unto Us” celebrates the miracle of redeeming grace, and a Savior who is called Jesus, Immanuel, God With Us. Journey to Bethlehem
Dec. 11 from 4:30-8:30pm at Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th St. Parkway, Lenexa, KS. Travel back in time with us as we take a journey from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. Along the way we will discover the individual and powerful stories of Zechariah, Elizabeth, Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, and the Wise Men. Throughout this journey, you will firsthand experience the good news as it is comes to life in front of your eyes and will have the opportunity to participate and respond as you experience the true meaning of what Christmas is all about. Sign up online for tour group times. Coinciding with the journey we will have a marketplace open to sample authentic food and crafts. Please allow at least 30 minutes to walk through the marketplace experience. A hospitality room is also available to enjoy sit down refreshments and conversations. Both the marketplace and hospitality room will close at 8:30 pm.
Christmas In the Barn

The KCS Holiday Express Dec. 15-20 at Union Station, 30 W. Pershing, Kansas City. The KCS Holiday Express is a festive, six-car train that brings Santa Claus and his elves to communities throughout the company’s U.S. rail network at scheduled stops. Guests to the train can visit with Santa Claus and walk through three cars filled with holiday displays. Each event is free, open to the public and no tickets are required. In addition, at each scheduled stop, a charitable contribution is made to the local Salvation Army to provide warm clothes and other necessities for children in need. The Holiday Express was created in 2001 as volunteers dedicated more than 8,000 hours to transform retired rail cars. Today, these cars feature a smiling tank car named Rudy; a flatcar carrying Santa’s sleigh, reindeer and a miniature village; a gingerbread boxcar; the elves’ workshop; a reindeer stable; and a little red caboose.

Christmas on the Farm

Coleman House Opening
