Notre Dame de Sion Grade School

Notre Dame de Sion School of Kansas City was founded by and is affiliated with the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Sion and one of 17 Sion schools internationally. Recognized by the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, Notre Dame de Sion School is an independent Catholic school managed and operated by a lay Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and staff who remain committed and faithful to the Sion Mission. Fully accredited by AdvancedED and ISACS, the school maintains two campuses: a Co-educational PK-8th grade in the historic Hyde Park District and a college preparatory high school for girls in south Kansas City. St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School

  • Leadership Development – The St. Paul’s Buddy Program is unique and rewarding, as little buddies are paired with big students in 3rd – 8th grade. Littles and Bigs meet up for activities and games throughout the year.
  • Daily Chapel – Students start each day with songs, fellowship, and prayer. Lessons are focused on spiritual exploration (not just Episcopal traditions) and building key life skills.
  • Expert Teachers – 77% of the teachers have advanced degrees and are experts in their grade-level’s instruction
  • Themed Learning – Teachers use themes (e.g. Outer Space, Community Helpers, All about Asia, Hooray for the USA) to thread learning across science, social studies, math, reading, music, and creative writing. This technique keeps students engaged, regardless of the subject.
