Art in the City at Science City!

Join us for Art in the City, our second annual collaborative art event day in Science City. Children and adults can participate in a wide range of art activities, creating their own art in workshops, and working together with other guests to create a community masterpiece. This event will connect Science City to the Kansas City community through art and collaboration.
This year, we are excited to highlight a variety of local artists and business, including:
• Caroline Meek, a local ceramic artist. Caroline will facilitate a collaborative vase painting sculpture that will be displayed at the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium after the event.
◦ Location: Maze Park
• Trinity Pote, a local print maker. Trinity will be leading a screen print making activity. The first 150 guests will receive a free tote bag with bespoke Art in the City 2026 logo. Guests are invited to bring their own t-shirt to have printed on at the event.
◦ Location: Creative Corner
• Jason Harrington, artist’s moniker Rif Raf Giraffe, mural painter. Jason will be live spray painting a 4 sq ft. mural.
◦ Location: Simple Machines at Play
• Magpie Creative Reuse. Sustainable artists will help guests create a recycled material coral reef sculpture.
