“White Christmas” free film screening

In 1945, Harry S. Truman gave White Christmas songwriter, Irving Berlin, the Army’s Medal of Merit. Berlin received this award for his extraordinary service as creator and producer of This Is the Army. The musical featured a cast of US soldiers and premiered on Broadway on July 28, 1943. Proceeds were donated to the Army Emergency Relief. Berlin wrote all 19 songs, including God Bless America.
