Introducing our Featured Artists:
At Lumière & Aria, we have the pleasure of showcasing the works of Pleasant Hill photographer, Michael Edwards. Michael has generously shared his Pleasant Hill and Kansas City area photos with the community over the past few years. His photo of Arrowhead Stadium was most recently featured on the cover of a KC Parent magazine, and his work is often shared across social media. We believe strongly that his photos of our downtown will end up in museums some day, highlighting what “things used to look like” at our point in time. As our mission is strongly tied to preserving our historic district, we are honored to share his work with you, and reflect on the locations we hold dear. As part of this event, we will be offering some of his exclusive photos in a silent auction, which feature scenes from around Pleasant Hill and Kansas City.
Our event will also feature live vocals from Michael’s wife, Candice Edwards. Candice, a Pleasant Hill native, is a classically trained vocalist whose rich talent is matched by her academic credentials — she holds a Master’s in Vocal Performance from the University of Connecticut. Intermixed with stories about Michael’s photography, Candice will perform moving selections from the classical and romantic repertoire — music that speaks to the heart and elevates the soul.
