A Community Partnership Devoted to Helping Area Women Escape Domestic Violence.
Hope House Domestic Violence Shelters of Kansas City and clair de lune, the long time, locally owned lingerie specialty store, are celebrating their 16th year of partnership through the Great Bra Exchange, happening January 4 thru 19 at clair de lune.
The Great Bra Exchange encourages customers of clair de lune to trade-in gently used bras. Customers receive $15 off the purchase of a new bra and those trade-ins are donated to Hope House to provide their clients.
Why bras?
“We’ve learned through our longtime relationship with Hope House that intimate apparel, in particular bras represents a much-needed item for their clients, seeking protection and counsel,” said Terry Levine, owner of clair de lune.
“clair de lune customers have embraced our partnership with Hope House from the beginning. It’s a simple, direct way that they may support this important service, while getting a little incentive for a new bra purchase.”
One may participate in the Great Bra Exchange by trading in your gently used bras in-store at clair de lune. For every bra donated, you receive $15 off the purchase of a new bra in a one-for-one trade.
In the 16 years partnering and supporting Hope House, clair de lune has collected and donated more than 28,000 bras.
“We appreciate how the customers of clair de lune support Hope House through the Great Bra Exchange,” said Hope House CEO MaryAnne Metheny. “Few realize how important this commitment is to our efforts in caring for victims of domestic violence.”
The Great Bra Exchange takes place from Saturday, January 4 thru Sunday, January 19.
