Be inspired by President Truman’s calisthenics routine\, as demonstrated at the “Truman Athletic Club” on the USS Missouri. And re-visit Truman’s harsh critique of Coach Hank Stram’s call after the Chiefs lost to the Raiders. \n“Our new exhibition will engage both Kansas Citians and people from around the world visiting for the FIFA World Cup matches\,” said Mark Adams\, director of the Truman Library. “The Trumans loved sports. Bess was quite an athlete as a young woman and President Truman loved horseshoes\, fishing\, and swimming. DESCRIPTION:A brand-new summer camp taught and directed by Martin City Melodrama at EA for theatrical arts! This camp teaches the young theatre artist classic comedy of yesteryear. Charlie Chaplin\, Buster Keaton\, The Marx Brothers as well as the modern comedians of today. Emphasis will be on improvisation\, slapstick\, the art of telling a joke\, and physical theatre. Music will be included to emphasize the rhythm of performing cleaning executed comedy. The day camp creates an original cowboy melodrama and vaudeville with student actors and culminates into three live performances on the Englewood Arts Center for families and friends to see. Students with disabilities are encouraged to participate. The student actors will experience teamwork\, discipline for theatrical arts and build self-esteem in the live shows performed by themselves.
