Become A Sea Turtle Rescuer at SEA LIFE Kansas City
Sea Life Kansas City 2475 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri
Ever wanted to be the hero? Now guests of SEA LIFE Kansas City can learn how to save the day for a sea turtle through their new limited time event, Sea Turtle Rescue. From 2015 to 2020, SEA LIFE Aquariums around the world have rescued and rehabilitated 85 sea turtles and now guests can discover the detailed work to rescue sea turtles with unique activities throughout SEA LIFE Kansas City! Guests can also get face to flipper with the Aquarium’s rescued sea turtles, Gertrude and Lou – both of whom were rescued off the coast of Florida.
During the Sea Turtle Rescue Event, guests start an adventure in SEA LIFE’s Turtle Hatchery with Doc Shelby where they will be able to name and create their very own baby sea turtle. Guests will take their turtle all the way to the “ocean” at the end of the aquarium avoiding obstacles that turtles might face and learning what a healthy sea turtle looks like and needs. They will also learn the stories of Lou and Gertrude and how to help protect these shell-ebrities while caring for a turtle of their own through step-by-step activities and interactions. The simulated experience will bring guests of all ages through an activity trail where they can weigh a sea turtle, feed them and guide them back to the ocean. This event will be held January 12th through March 5th.
