Blue Springs Fishing Derby

Join The Sunset Optimist Club of Blue Springs and Lake Lotawana Optimist Club along with Blue Springs Parks & Recreation for the 33rd annual Free Blue Springs Fishing Derby for children ages 5 -14. 

Dive into a day of angling excitement at our Fishing Derby, where enthusiasts ages 5-14 gather for a thrilling day by the water's edge. Join us at Railroad Lake, where the serene waters promise a perfect backdrop for a memorable fishing experience. 

What to Expect:

Participants are encouraged to bring their own tackle and bait, putting their skills to the test at Railroad Lake. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a novice, everyone is welcome to cast their lines and try their luck at catching the big one.

To keep you energized and refreshed throughout the event, each participant will receive a complimentary hot dog, chips, and a refreshing drink. It's the perfect way to refuel and recharge between catches.
