Amy Yang
Winner of the 62nd ARD International Music Competition, she is also a prize winner of the Tchaikovsky International, Queen Elisabeth, International Jean Sibelius Violin, Joseph Joachim International Violin Hannover, Montreal International Musical, and the 15th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin competitions. She has performed around the world and brings her talents and—with the support of Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation—her 1774 violin by Joannes Baptista Guadagnini to the Polsky Theatre.
Appearing with Kim will be pianist Amy Yang, hailed by the Washington Post as a "jaw-dropping pianist who [steals] the show ... with effortless finesse." Passionate about chamber music and an advocate for new music, Yang has performed across the United States and around the globe. She is the founder of The Schumann Project, a special series of concerts to present Schumann’s major solo piano and chamber works. She also serves as Chamber Music Mentor at Curtis Institute of Music and Chamber Music Coach at The University of Pennsylvania. Yang released her debut solo album, with works by Bach, Caroline Shaw and Schumann, in 2018.
