Bring your little paleontologists to Crown Center to experience this FREE\, interactive exhibit designed to spark curiosity and scientific thinking. \n* Touch dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes\n* Dig for fossils like a real paleontologist\n* Explore a swampy bog and an oozing volcano\n* Climb through icy terrain inspired by prehistoric environments \nBased on the Cretaceous period when dinosaurs last roamed the earth\, this exhibit builds on children’s innate curiosity about dinosaurs while promoting scientific thinking and learning. \nOpen Monday – Saturday\, 10am to 6pm; Sunday\, noon to 5pm. (Closed Easter Sunday\, April 5.) \nAdmission is FREE. Call 816-274-8444 for information. \nDinosaurs Land of Fire and Ice was created by Minnesota Children’s Museum. Truman Library Presidential Library & Museum \n500 West U.S. Highway 24\, Independence\, Missouri \nWHY \n\nGet a first look at this remarkable collection of 21 rarely seen documents from the vaults of the National Archives.\nPaired with artifacts and images from the Truman Library’s collections\, these landmark records reveal democracy in action\, illuminated by the voice and values of President Harry S. Truman.\nThis limited time exhibition – April 20-May 24 – is a highlight of the region’s America250 celebration.\n\nBACKGROUND \nRare original documents on display include a Treaty of Paris Broadside (1787); the Bill of Rights\, Senate Revisions (1789); the Louisiana Purchase (1803); and the North Atlantic Treaty (1949). \nThis is the largest collection of National Archives documents touring America’s Presidential Libraries during its Opening the Vault tour\, launched to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary. \nThe exhibition also includes remarkable artifacts from the Truman Library collection\, including Elaine de Kooning’s abstract expressionist portrait of President John F. Kennedy and a portrait of Benjamin Franklin given to President Truman by French President Charles de Gaulle.
