DESCRIPTION:June 12\, 2026 – December 6\, 2026\n\nH. Tony and Marti Oppenheimer Gallery; Dean E. Thompson Gallery\, First Floor \nFREE and open to the public \n  \n\n\nSport and Spectator celebrates the dynamic intersection of the visual arts and sports culture\, presenting an array of works that transform sports imagery and equipment such as basketballs\, helmets\, and jerseys into artworks. The exhibition invites viewers to consider how sports shape our society\, from their impact on the individual to their broader cultural influences. \nSport and Spectator features works by Brandon J. Donahue-Shipp\, Jeffrey Gibson\, Raul Rene Gonzalez\, Sophie Inard\, Brian Jungen\, Justin Korver\, Betsy Odom\, Esmaa Mohamoud\, Hank Willis Thomas and Tyrrell Winston. Now at the Nerman Museum\, this exhibition is expanded further to include additional artworks from local\, national\, and international collections and artists\, including works by Felipe Barbosa\, Sandow Birk\, Zoe Buckman\, Rob Carter\, Benjamin Degen\, Awol Erizku\, Archie Scott Gobber\, Hugh Hayden\, Samuel Levi Jones\, Esteban Ramón Pérez\, and Jake Troyli. \nThis exhibition\, originally on view at the McNay Art Museum\, was organized by René Paul Barilleaux\, Head of Curatorial Affairs; and Lauren Thompson\, Curator of Exhibitions.

DESCRIPTION:Get into the spooky spirit by dressing in your best costume and see if you live to tell the tale of the Ghouls Night Out! Kids can safely trick or treat along the trail in Roanoke Park\, show off their costume in the parade\, play gruesome games\, and enter the Ghoul House if they dare. \nGhouls Night Out\nFriday\, October 16 from 6:00-8:00 PM\nWestport-Roanoke Community Center\, 3601 Roanoke Rd.\, Kansas City\, MO\nThe south entrance from 38th St. to Roanoke Rd. will be closed. Guests can enter Roanoke Rd. from Karnes Blvd. \n6-8 PM | Ghoul House\, free activities\, and trick or treat trail\n7 PM | Costume Parade \nActivities include a bouncy house\, pumpkin painting\, cookie decorating and more!\n*Pumpkin painting is available to the first 50 participants on a first come first serve basis.\nAll activities are free except for the Ghoul House. The Ghoul House is $5/person and can be bought in advance or day of.
