DESCRIPTION:A no-drop\, 3-mile ride from Brookside Park to KC Bier Co along the Trolley Track Trail. \nThese slow rides encourage families of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes! We take the pace of the slowest rider\, even if they are on a stride bike. “No-drop” means that no one will be left behind. We have a ride leader and a “sweep” who stays with the slowest group. The route is designed for families to choose the distance that works for them\, with easy turn-back options. The group typically hangs at KC Bier Co for a pretzel or two. Families can then ride back on their own time. \nTrolley Track rides meet at the Brookside Park baseball diamond (56th & Brookside) at 10am on the 1st & 3rd Sundays in June\, July\, Sept\, & Oct. August is too hot & too crazy with the back-to-school shuffle. \nAll wheels are welcome:\nAdults & kids on their own bikes\nStrider bikes\nBikes with training wheels\ne-Bikes*\nCargo bikes\nBike trailers\nScooters & strollers welcome but may be difficult on the crushed gravel trail.

Visit scenes from the American Revolution and the earliest Kansas settlers on up to World War II and the 1960s Civil Rights movement. Watch military drills on the lawn – visit camping tents and wagons trains – smell bread baking in the Farmhouse – pet the farmyard animals – take a pony ride – talk with indigenous tribal nations – stop by the stores in town – learn about segregation and equality – listen to live music – and more! Talk with expert historians from across the United States\, excited to tell you their unique stories about the nation’s origins\, and the different people and experiences that make us who we are! \nAdmission is FREE with “goodwill donations encouraged” at the gate! All donations go to the Friends of Shawnee Town and our new Visitor Center! Event is rain or shine.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Earth Day\, Tanger Kansas City at Legends invites the community to donate their used sneakers – any kind\, size or condition – to support its new recycling program. Shoppers can give back by donating a minimum of two pairs of shoes at The Lawn from noon – 4 p.m. on April 24 and 25. Sneakers collected will be recycled through Tanger’s partnership with Sneaker Impact\, repurposing them into rubber material for future soft play surfaces and other usable products. Guests who donate will receive a special offer for 20 percent off top brands like Under Armour and Old Navy. \nThe center is also teaming up with Piper High School to expand its Earth Day efforts even further.
