Day Out with Frank and Ella at Mahaffie

Frank and Ella were the youngest Mahaffie children. A Day Out with Frank and Ella helps visitors of all ages experience childhood in the 1860s.
Cost is $5/youth and includes one stagecoach ride. Youth under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. One free adult admission for one paid youth admission. Optional: $2 cost for a stagecoach ride for each free adult. Additional adults are $5. Children ages 4 & under are free. Activities are open to visitors of all ages.

- June 1 & 2: Day Out with Frank and Ella: Mad Scientists Mad Scientists activities may include: Gunpowder demonstrations, Learn about steam power, electricity, and the telegraph, Meet the Phrenologist, Professor Nigel P Throckmorton III, Blacksmith demonstrations, Cookstove demonstrations and Visit the Mahaffie House.
- June 8 & 9: Day Out with Frank and Ella: Summer Schooling
- June 15 & 16: Day Out with Frank and Ella: Occupations
- June 22 & 23: Day Out with Frank and Ella: Farming Fun & Sorghum Planting
- June 29 & 30: Day Out with Frank and Ella: Trails
- July 6 & 7: Day Out with Frank and Ella-Fun on the Fourth Fun on the Fourth activities may include: Singing Patriotic Songs, Signing a copy of the Declaration of Independence, Blacksmith demonstrations, Cookstove demonstrations, and Visit the Mahaffie House.
- July 13 & 14: Day Out with Frank and Ella: Civil War Civil War activities feature: Camp Life, Sign up for President Lincoln's Army!, Cannon drills at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m., Marching and Drilling, Visit the Mahaffie House, Blacksmith demonstrations, and Stagecoach Rides.
- July 20 & 21: Day Out with Frank and Ella- Cowbow We are roping, branding, learning about cowboy gear, and how to take care of a cowboy's horse. Thankfully, a lot of this can be done under cover or even in the barn where it is much cooler!
- July 27 & 28: Day Out with Frank and Ella-Christmas in July Christmas In July Activities may include: Meeting Union Santa, Listening to a reading of The Night Before Christmas, Making an 1860s ornament, and Helping to make some Christmas treats in Mrs. Mahaffie's kitchen.
