Join us at Science City for two roarsome days of dino-themed fun and discovery!

DINO DAYS. WEDNESDAY, JULY 2:

Don’t miss this dino-mite day of prehistoric fun and special activities!

11am – 2pm - Take a step inside Science City’s DinoLab and get an up-close view of the space and tools our volunteer paleontologists use to prep fossils.

11am-4pm - In the Maker Studio, use 3-D printed ammonite shells, jewelry wire, and satin cord to create an Ammonite Necklace. You’ll also learn about how ammonite shells grow and expand, adding layers as the creatures get older.

11:30am - At the Periodic Table, learn about how life evolved after the demise of the dinosaurs!

12:00pm - Join us at Science on a Sphere for a special presentation led by a paleo expert and featuring real fossils. Learn about the prehistoric creatures that once roamed Kansas City and what caused Earth’s climate and surface change over time. Featured fossils will include megalodon teeth, mammoth tusks, ammonites, and mosasaur teeth.

2pm - Find out how low you can go and win ancient prizes in our Dino Limbo happening in Maze Park.

Stegosaurus Hat: Get creative and be a dinosaur for a day! Use construction paper to build your stegosaurus hat and design it to your liking.

Science City hours today are 10am-5pm. 

DINO LAB OPEN HOUSE. SUNDAY, JULY 6:

Join us for a special day of dino discovery when our DinoLab volunteers host their monthly DinoLab Open House. Taking place from 12pm-4pm, it's an amazing opportunity to get hands-on with paleontology. They'll even have a FREE FOSSIL for every guest who visits them!

Open House activities include:

• Paleontologist-led tours of the DinoLab

• Your chance to interact with paleontologists who hunt fossils and prepare specimens in the lab for further study

• See current projects that the paleontology team is working on to recover dinosaur bones from the Kansas City area

• See and touch real fossils

• FREE fossil for each guest

Science City hours today are 12pm-5pm.
