Donate to Toys for Tots + Snap a Holiday Family Photo + Meet a Marine

Donate to Toys for Tots at the Overland Park Convention Center, and while you're here get a holiday family photo, and meet Santa and a Marine!

To participate, bring a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off at the convention center between now and Dec. 14. For those wishing to capture the spirit of giving, a decorative sleigh and festive décor will be available for family photos near the 110th Street entrance on the northside of the building. Directional signage is provided.

In addition to the regular donation hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., select Saturdays will feature special appearances by Santa and a Marine, offering families a unique photo opportunity:

• Nov. 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Marine on-site

• Nov. 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Marine on-site

• Dec. 02, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Santa and Marine on-site

• Dec. 09, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Santa and Marine on-site

Last year, Toys for Tots served over 36,000 less fortunate children in the greater Kansas City area. This year, the need is even greater, with an estimated 45,000 children in need this holiday season.

Toys for Tots assists children up to age 17. Items to consider for pre-teens and teens include, but are not limited to, sporting equipment, bags, balls, books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars and trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers.
