Families watch as Downtown Lawrence is lit up with festive holiday lights and Santa appears on the roof of Weaver's Department Store.
The holidays come alive in Downtown Lawrence at the Holiday Lighting Ceremony and Santa Rescue on Friday, November 29, starting at 6 PM.
The ceremony will begin with a countdown and lighting of the Downtown lights. Afterward, look to the roof of Weaver's Department Store for a Santa sighting! No worries, Lawrence Douglas County Fire & Medical will be there with a ladder fire truck to rescue Santa from the rooftop.
Don't forget to have your kiddos write their letters to Santa beforehand; they will be collected at this year's event! Tip: include a return address if you want to receive a personal response.
