Enchanted Forest
to
George Owens Nature Park 1601 S. Speck Rd., Independence, Missouri 64057
Halloween doesn’t have to be scary for little ones, and with that in mind, every year since October 1991 the beautiful woods of the George Owens Nature Park in Independence, Missouri, have been magically transformed into an enchanted forest during the two weekends leading up to Halloween.
The Enchanted Forest is a non-scary alternative to haunted houses and a fun experience for younger children (accompanied by an adult). Groups are led by guides down the paved trail through the Enchanted Forest to see stories enacted at several stops along the way. A hay ride at the end of the trail brings groups back to the entrance.
