Hannah is the star of the book “Helpful Hannah Hippo” written and illustrated by Dr. Dino j. Martins of the Mpala Research Centre. The book demonstrates the rewards of working together and how each of our talents is needed to support each other. This concept is extended to the realm of biodiversity and climate change through the array of animal characters Hannah and her friends encounter.
This sweet hippo puppet just wants to help out both her friends at home and this precious planet we all live on so she is throwing an Earth Day Party!
Meet Hannah with some of her puppet friends and human friends from Kenya and Kansas City, play games, join in on puppet story time, download her book to follow along https://mpala.org/helpful-hannah/#more-3403 , dance to African music, see video of the live Hippos in their natural habitat and meet kids from KC and Kenya talk about what Earth Day means to them and what they are doing to protect the planet.
This is the launch of an international partnership between Mpala Research Center in Kenya, Project Central in Kansas City, KS and StoneLion Puppet Theatre Kansas City, MO to bring global awareness through puppets and art for the need to save the biodiversity of our planet.
