Come see a part of railroad history as the historic Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 steam engine stops in Downtown Lee's Summit.
Big Boy No. 4014 went into service in December 1941 and was one of twenty-five Big Boys that were built exclusively for the Union Pacific Railroad. The Big Boys are the world's largest steam engines. Retired in 1961, having traveled 1,031,205 miles in its 20 years in service. No. 4014 was restored and returned to service in 2019 in time to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad's Completion.
