Our popular series returns in 2022 with new featured guest speakers, local brews, and even more dates!!
Our season kicks off with crowd favorite Dr. Richard Faulkner, Professor of History at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, as he examines the efforts to reintegrate the World War I veterans back into American society from 1919 to 1936. He will explore the government’s role in veteran’s affairs, the activities of organizations such as the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in advocating for veteran’s rights, and the challenges that the doughboy’s faced during the early years of the Great Depression.
Tickets for the program are $5.00 or free to Friends of Shawnee Town members, and includes a complimentary beverage from our evening’s featured brewery: Transport Brewing, located just a couple blocks down the street!
Visitors will also get the chance to tour 1920s automobiles, displayed courtesy of our friends at the Plain Ole A’s Model A Ford Club.
