Lighted Christmas Parade & Mayor's Tree Lighting
Historic Downtown Excelsior Springs 201 E. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, Missouri
Christmas kicks off in Excelsior Springs with a new theme each year. It is a special season everywhere and locally is celebrated with more than a month’s worth of family events. In 2019, the Christmas kickoff will be held on November 23 with a lighted Christmas parade and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting. The day will also feature the Elf Factory, allowing children to create crafts for a small fee and wrap them as gifts. Santa will be in town for photos and will return again for Breakfast with Santa in December.
Hundreds visit the Hall of Waters for the opening of the Hall of Trees. Over 30 Christmas trees uniquely decorated by businesses, civic groups and churches are presented in the Hall solarium and remain throughout December. Christmas cookies, served from the world’s largest water bar, are enjoyed during the event.
In addition, the Lane of Lights opens in East Valley Park on Lover’s Lane creating an enchanting drive. The Lane will also be open through December for families to enjoy throughout the holidays. New displays are added each year.
Other favorite holiday events include a Christmas Homes Tour, local homes beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Check out the community calendar of events or the Christmas committee Facebook page for the seasons festivities.
