SUMMARY:Patti LuPone A Life in Notes\, A musical touchstone of a life
DESCRIPTION:Music has the power to crystallize a moment in time and evoke eras. In her new concert\, Patti LuPone: A Life in Notes\, the three-time Tony Award winner performs an array of songs which do just that — songs that are touchstones and reflections on her life growing up in America — from a young girl during the burgeoning rock and roll scene of the fifties\, to coming of age in the politically and socially turbulent sixties\, to eventually achieving success with both career and family. \n\nConceived and directed by Scott Wittman \nMusic direction and arrangements by Joseph Thalken \nWritten by Jeffrey Richman

SUMMARY:JAM Sessions: Film Canister Rockets
DESCRIPTION:How do rockets travel into space? You may know that it takes fuel to simply get a rocket off the ground and that the rocket also needs to escape the Earth’s gravity to actually get out of our orbit…which requires a lot of fuel! Fuel can\, and has been\, made in different ways to generate the forces required to lift rockets. In this aero engineering-themed JAM\, you will learn how fuel helps generate these forces—by launching a film canister. You will use two simple ingredients to make your fuel\, change the ratios after each launch\, and make observations about how the changes in fuel ingredients affects their distance traveled.

SUMMARY:Ripples: Water\, Community\, and You
DESCRIPTION:Open Feb. 8\, 2025 – Jan. 10\, 2026\nWater is the lifeblood of human civilization\, shaping our history\, economy\, and environment. “Ripples” explores how water has connected us all—past\, present\, and future. From ancient inland seas to today’s interconnected watersheds\, humans have always relied on water for survival\, trade\, agriculture\, recreation\, and more. But as we face increasing challenges like historic droughts\, floods\, and pollution\, our relationship with water has never been more complex. \nVisitors to “Ripples” will dive into Johnson County’s award-winning modern water management\, the ways humans have both controlled and been shaped by water\, and the evolving mindset that views water and humans as interdependent. The exhibit showcases the region’s history through interactive displays\, artifacts\, and stories that illustrate the ripples left by past decisions and the ones we continue to create today. \nNow available as a book! Stop by the Museum Store to pick up a copy of “Ripples: Water\, Community\, and You.” Open Monday – Saturday\, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.

SUMMARY:stART the conversation art exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Nearly four years ago\, a group of Wyandot BHN staff came together with the idea to create an art exhibition where clients could publicly showcase their art. For so many clients\, art allowed them to express what words could not. That initial idea took root and blossomed into what is now the stART the conversation art exhibition\, which showcases the mental health-centric artwork of not only Wyandot BHN clients\, but also the larger Kansas City community. \n\nThe stART the conversation art exhibition serves as an embodiment of Wyandot BHN’s commitment to fostering dialogue and understanding around mental health and eliminating the stigma. This exhibition provides a unique stage for those with lived experience of mental health challenges to share their stories and showcase how art has helped them to heal and grow. \n\nThis event is more than an art exhibition; it’s a powerful and equitable platform where individuals can share their journeys and challenges without relying solely on words. Art is showcased as a form of storytelling through which we explore and express complex emotions.
