DESCRIPTION:If you are looking for guided hikes in Kansas City\, our Hike with a Naturalist focuses on habitats around Lakeside Nature Center. The hikes typically occur on the upper Fox Hollow trail which is primarily covered with rock and accessible for most participants. However\, depending on the naturalist\, another part of the Fox Hollow trail might also be incorporated\, which may be a little more challenging for some hikers. For more information on Fox Hollow Trail\, go here. \nPlease gather outside the main doors of the Nature Center at 10:15 am. The naturalist will meet hikers\, outline the plans for the hike and then lead the group on the trail. \nHikes will be cancelled in severe weather. Call the Nature Center at (816) 513-8960 for confirmation or more information on the hike. DESCRIPTION:The Overland Park Civic Band is honored to close its Summer Concert Series with a joint concert with The American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City.  The concert will take place Sunday July 6th at Thompson Park located at 8045 Santa Fe in Overland Park.  The Overland Park Civic Band Conductor/Music Director Andrew Yates along with Associate Conductor Jerry Gipson will conduct the first half of the concert\, and the second half of the concert will feature The America Legion Band of Kansas City conducted Mrs. Heather Pickett. For the finale\, both bands will combine to perform the Kansas State Song\, and the grand finale will be both bands plus the audience having a chance to join in a chorus of “God Bless America”!
