Museum Free Admission Day: St. Joseph Museum

On Saturday, September 22, the whole family can enjoy a St. Joseph “day-cation” as participating museums from the Museum Association of St. Joseph, Missouri, joins in the annual Museum Day Live!, created by Smithsonian Magazine. The event was created as a celebration of boundless curiosity. Over 40,000 institutions are expected to participate with St. Joseph, Missouri, museums joining the celebration in a big way. Admission at all participating sites is free!
Guided tours of the history of mental health treatments and what was once known as "State Lunatic Asylum No. 2" will be given at 11 a.m. and 1, 2, and 3 p.m. at the Glore Psychiatric Museum, 3406 Frederick Avenue.
At the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion, 1100 Charles Street, docents will be available to show guests the beautiful Mansion and visitors can tour “Intersections of Time and Buildings,” “The Architecture of E. J. Eckel,” Confluence: The Great Flood of 1993,” and “Ruth Warrick: Fame and Politics.”
